My name is Helen Melvin and I am registered with OFSTED as an ACCREDITED Network Childminder to provide high quality childcare for children of all ages. Being an Accredited Childminder allows me to offer 15 hrs per week of free nursery places to three and four year olds, enabling parents to have a greater choice as to where their child receives their free early years education.
I provide independent, professional and affordable childminding services in West Berkshire to help your child learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. As a mother myself, I have a wealth of experience in dealing with children, behaviour management, toilet training and issues relating to sleeping and eating. I totally understand that leaving your child with a childminder is a huge step and a decision not to be taken lightly, so I am determined to provide quality assured, outstanding childcare that parents can trust.
My aims and objectives are:
- To enhance the development and education of the children in my care.
- To provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment; and
- To work within a framework that ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families.
I can assure you that your child’s safety is my main priority. With this in mind I carry out extensive risk assessments of my setting and every place that we visit. I also have an excellent understanding of child protection issues and regularly update my safeguarding qualifications. My business is also registered under the Data Protection Act 1998.
My Services
I offer full or part time vacancies for children aged from 6 weeks. My Registration allows me to care for a maximum of six children under the age of eight, of whom only three children can be aged under five. Of these only one can be under the age of one.
My normal working hours are from 7.30a.m. – 6.00p.m Monday to Friday. Evening or weekend care is not normally available, but I may accommodate in special cases. I offer both full and part time care for under fives, before and after school care, term time or holidays only for school aged children, depending on availability. I can also pick up and drop off at a number of local schools and/or Pre-Schools.
